Domiciled in Zurich, Switzerland, the 26-year-old is the 2006 Swiss Sanda Champion as well as the current Swiss Muay Thai Champion. His grounding in mixed martial arts and kickboxing served him well in his amateur days where he chalked up 9 wins and 3 losses, including 2 TKOs. James Matinez hails fro Honolulu,Hawai, but do not mistake him or a ‘hang loose’ brother. Despite being an Raslafarian, Martinez is an explosive fighter who is superb aggressive in the ring. Going by the first name of King James, he has been known to hand out royal thrashings. Certainly his 23 win 3 loss record from 26 fights speak for itself. An imaginative fighter who is unafraid to pull risky moves, his flying knees, jumping elbows, spinning elbows and back fists will win him many fans. This American fighter is out to prove a point for his native USA.
Sean Wright is one of the most colorful foreign Muay Thai fighters based in Thailand. Hailing from Scotland, Sean began martial arts training at 14, trying out several forms but not liking any until he found Muay Thai, which he considers supreme in the range of striking systems. Although his match-fighting career began at 18, it was not until he was 21 that Sean began to take competition seriously, and success followed in Britain where he became the SIMTA Welterweight British Champion and IMTC Super Welterweight Champion. Sean also chalked up notable wins in Thailand as well, including at Rajadamern and Lumpinee, and during WMC King’s and Queen’s Birthday Celebrations in Bangkok. In March 2007, Sean defeated Kassenov Dias of Kazakhstan to claim the WMC Intercontinental title during the President’s Cup in Almaty, Kazakhstan. A thinking fighter who takes timeto work out his opponent, Sean’s Muay Thai skills has improved since moving to Thailand where he trains at Sasiprapa and Lanna Muay Thai gyms in Bangkok and Chiangmai. At the start of the 2 round both fighters engage in the clinch with John Wayne Parr taking Baukaw to the ground.
Back on their feet, John Wayne Parr finds his range with a lead left kick.
While John wayne parrs seems to have the faster punches, Baukaws quick leg kicks are as equally as fast as they manage to catch John Wayne Parr as he steps back.
Both fighters are exchange alot of leg kicks but baukaw seems to be landing the more effective strikes.
Baukaw lands serveral kicks including a head high kick to John Wayne Parr which was blocked. Both fighters end up in the clinch at the end of the 2nd round.
The round started off with both fighter sizing each other up in standard muay thai fighting stance. Both fighters were kicking from ranging with Buakaw landing what seemed to be the more effective leg strikes.
While JWP hands effective kicks, Buakaw seems to be landing the heavier blows. John Wayne Parr’s hand strikes are alot more effective when in range but Baukaw manages to answer back with leg kicks.
Both fighters try for head kicks but both manage to defend themselves. 1st round end with John Wayne Parr being more effective with his hand strikes.

The following video highlight reel is an amazing display of Buakaw’s powerful kicking abilities. He’s ability to strike using both hands and feet from any position makes him of the most devastating fighter in the K1 and Muay Thai circuit.
Sam’s Semi Final fight in The Contender ends with a loss to Sakio Bika, who ends up winning The Contender Serie 3 competition.
It was a great fight with Soliman landing some very heavy punches during their exchanges but still feel that Sakio Bika was the better fighter on the night.
